The Duggar family of "19 Kids and Counting" have extended congratulations to "cousin" Amy Duggar, who recently announced her engagement to boyfriend Dillon King.
In a note posted on Facebook on Tuesday, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar wrote, "We are so excited for our niece Amy Duggar and Dillion King on getting engaged. We tell every couple that as a husband and wife individually draw close to God, they will draw close to each other. We love you Amy & Dillon and pray that God will continue to bless your relationship as you put Him first in your lives! Uncle Jim Bob and Aunt Michelle."
Jim Bob and Michelle's oldest son, Josh, also took to Instagram to congratulate his cousin on her pending nuptials.
"Congrats to Dillon & Amy on your engagement...welcome to the family @kingdillpickle!" the soon-to-be- father of four said.
Amy, who often appeared in episodes of "19 Kids and Counting" alongside her extended family, announced her engagement on Monday morning and shared a photo of her beautiful, oval-shaped diamond ring.
"I'm so happy to announce ... WE ARE ENGAGED!!!!" she wrote on Instagram. "He loves the Lord, he makes me laugh uncontrollably, he's loyal, he's patient, he's my best friend! Of course I said yes!! l love you so much! @kingdillpickle #DillandDuggsforever."
King shared photos online showing a trail of candles leading to a clearing in the woods, where he got down on one knee and proposed.
He wrote on Instagram: "@amyduggar I asked you to be my fiancee not just because I love you right now. I got down on one knee because you are the only woman I have and will truly love forever.!!!"
In addition to appearing on "19 Kids and Counting," Amy, a country singer, was the subject of the TLC special A Duggar Leaves Home. TLC described her as the "the fun-loving cousin" who's "a little louder, a little wilder" than her cousins. Unlike her cousins, Amy does not abide by a dress code which prohibits females from wearing pants, spaghetti straps, and form-fitting outfits.
The 28-year-old, whose mother is Jim Bob's older sister Deanna, also does not follow the strict courting rules that her cousins abide by, which includes supervised conversations, side hugs and no kissing until marriage.
Earlier this year, Amy made headlines after she urged fans to "never stop praying" following reports that Josh Duggar had molested five underage girls, including two of his sisters, as a young teen.
"No matter what happens in life our prayers are heard. Pray for your enemies. Pray for people who judge you and mistreat you. Pray for God's will in every aspect of your life," she captioned an image of the words "Never stop praying" on Instagram at the time.
