Josh Duggar, the oldest son of "19 Kids and Counting" stars Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, recently gave an interview discussing his life in politics and the thrill of expecting a fourth child with his wife, Anna.
Last year, the Duggar family moved to Washington, D.C. so that Josh could work for the conservative group Family Research Council as the executive director of FRC Action. While he does not use his family's popularity to help his professional life, Josh says he is proud of their strong Christian beliefs.
"People know who our family is, that it's built on strong faith and caring for people," Josh told The Washington Post. "It's been a great fit, it's an extension of who we are. There are perceptions that people have about Washington, and I'll say there is some truth to it - but there are a lot of good people here."
While Josh and his family vocally support many Conservative candidates that share their faith and Biblical values, the oldest Duggar has no plans to run for political office himself--yet.
"Politics is quite a game - it puts things in perspective. I'm not planning to run anytime soon," Josh said. "My focus is supporting those people who are doing the right thing."
Josh and Anna, who have been married since 1998, announced last week that they are expecting their fourth child in June.
"I am nine weeks pregnant and I'm having a lot of morning sickness," she revealed to TLC. "It is difficult, but it's good because I know that good things are happening."
"We're in a whole new phase of our lives now," Josh said. "I can't believe how fast everyone is growing up."
Josh was likely referring to his younger sisters Jill and Jessa, who both got married this year. Jill, 23, married Derick Dillard in June, and the couple is expecting a baby boy in March. Jessa, 22, tied the knot with husband Ben Seewald on November 1st.
When asked if he and his wife will have a large family like he had growing up, Josh joked, "I usually let my wife answer that. I'll just say that we've got the hashtag '#4kids' for now."
Meanwhile, Duggar matriarch Michelle took to the family's blog to express her excitement regarding her growing family.
"Now that it's actually happening, there are all of these wonderful mixed emotions," she said of her children getting married and having children of their own.
"You get the joy of watching a loving relationship unfold."
