Rumors have been part of the wrestling industry ever since the internet boom and fans want to know more about what's going to happen moving forward. Here are the latest WWE rumors involving Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Adam Cole and more.
Kurt Angle provides update on in-ring return
In an interview with WrestleZone Radio, Angle insisted that he still wants to wrestle and he has not retired. However, the general manager of Monday Night Raw noted that the WWE is keeping an eye on him first before letting him come back inside the ring.
"They haven't talked to me about it. I'm sure they won't until the last second. That's ok with me. I think what they are doing right now is, this is just my own opinion, they're monitoring to see how I am doing," Angle said.
"I will be wrestling down the road at some point. It might not be this year, it might be next year, I don't know. They haven't said a word but my guess is I will wrestle again in WWE. I just don't know when," he added.
Angle also pointed out the WWE is being careful about him because of his past. He had problems with pain killers and alcohol during his tenure with TNA Wrestling but he has been sober for the past four years. He was recently inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and he signed a long-term deal with the company.
Many fans want to see him wrestle for the WWE because of the superstars he can have great matches with. Some of the potential opponents for Angle this year or in 2018 include Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, A.J. Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dean Ambrose, Samoa Joe, Kevin Owens, Rusev and more.
How long will Chris Jericho be out of television?
Chris Jericho was written out of television this past Tuesday after a brutal attack by Kevin Owens. After KO defeated Jericho to win the United States championship, he attacked his former best friend and hit a DDT on the floor as an homage to Jake "The Snake" Robert and "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
Owens was not done as he used a chair to crush Jericho's windpipe. The attack was a way to write "Y2J" out of television since he will be touring with his band Fozzy for the next several months. He is also set to record a new album very soon.
According to Flickering Myth, Jericho is set to return later this year and he will still be part of the SmackDown Live brand. The 46-year-old had arguably one of his best runs in the WWE and some people even say that it's the greatest run of his career.
Jericho managed to get over the words "Stupid Idiot" and "It" while also making "The List of Jericho" more popular than half of the main roster. Even though he did not win any world title, he was the most entertaining man on television.
Adam Cole to the WWE?
Ring of Honor star Adam Cole will be the biggest free agent on the market over the weekend when his deal with ROH expires. Surely, the WWE is interested in signing him to a contract but will he sign with them?
According to PW Mania, Cole has a lot of options besides signing with the WWE including going over to Japan and working for New Japan Pro Wrestling or re-signing with Ring of Honor. As of this writing, Cole might work with ROH on a per date basis before deciding where to take his talents.
No plans for Luke Harper and Erick Rowan
The WWE reportedly have no plans for Harper and Rowan moving forward after Bray Wyatt was moved from SmackDown Live to Monday Night Raw, per Sportskeeda. Harper was engaged in a battle with Wyatt and Rowan but it seems like the company had run out of ideas for former tag team partners.
