There is a new excitement with the new release date of Android 7.0 (also known as Android N or Nougat). The general procedure for an Android upgrade such as the one for last year's Android 6.0 (also known as Android M or Marshmallow), is that it will rollout when it rolls out. The issue is that Android 7.0 has already come to Google's older devices, which means that it might come out sooner for other Android devices. That could be the case for the popular HTC, and this is what is known about Android Version 7.0 Nougat Release Date HTC 10, 10 Lifestyle, One A9, One M9, and More.
According to iTechPost, HTC was one of the first companies to announce their devices that are scheduled for the Android 7.0 upgrade. It is expected that the latest device from HTC, the HTC 10, will be receiving its Android Nougat upgrade sometime in November.
There are other HTC devices that will receive their upgrade that include the HTC 10 Lifestyle, HTC One A9, and the HTC One M9. This is most certainly not an exhaustive list, but it is possible that the HTC One M8 will not be receiving the upgrade. Generally, HTC devices are guaranteed to receive the latest upgrade of Android, and the One M7 didn't get it last year with Marshmallow.
Speaking of Marshmallow, there are scads of HTC models that I'm not certain have received the Android upgrade to Version 6.0. They include these:
- HTC One M9+
- HTC One ME
- HTC One E8
- HTC Butterfly 3
- HTC Desire 826
- HTC Desire 820
- HTC Desire 816
- HTC Desire Eye
- HTC One M8 Eye
- HTC One M8s
Just to let you know, it is quite possible that Nougat could appear even earlier. This is based on information that we know about Nougat's release date on Google's Nexus devices. Apparently, it has shown up a little earlier than expected, on some of the newer ones like the Nexus 5X and the Nexus 6P. Granted, those devices were from last year, and the Nexus series is being discontinued as of this year.
Normally, Google waits until their newest devices are released for the year, and then put the latest version on them. This year, the new Pixel and Pixel XL will be released soon, which means that it is going to be quite faster for Android to rollout this year.
At least, this is the hope. It is also possible that Android could come faster to other companies such as Sony, Samsung, LG, and Motorola, but we can only see when this arrives.
It is highly suggested that as the release date rolls around, you should check your HTC device on its Settings to see if there is a "System Update" available. If there is, then there will be an Over The Air (OTA) update to make it easy on HTC users.
