If you are not familiar with Ubisoft's The Division, it is from the mind of the late writer of political suspense, Tom Clancy. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York, and Black Friday was truly black as a lethal virus kills a majority of the population, forcing the president to activate the special unit of The Division. The game was only released recently, after constant delays. Unfortunately, the game's second expansion back is about to get a delay, and there isn't really a specified release date as yet.
According to IGN, the second expansion pack for Tom Clancy's The Division, also known as Survival, has been delayed. The Downloadable Content (DLC) was scheduled to be released in September, but it is now postponed to "later this year". This delay is going to surely affect the release date of the third expansion back, which will be known as "Last Stand", released sometime in 2017 rather than the original plan for at the end of 2016.
In all honesty, most games should probably welcome delays. No Man's Sky is certainly not enjoying its share of negative reviews due to the games lack of diversity and constant crashing. So it probably is good that more time is spent on this.
Also, according to Ecumenical News, there were massive disappointments aired upon the release of the first expansion, which is known as Underground. So it is possible that the delays of the updates have to do with Ubisoft listening to community feedback, and will undoubtedly be listening to make the game challenging and enjoyable to players.
Ubisoft has stated on their own blog post that "priority should now be on improving the core gameplay experience". They also have a reason for the delay that states: "enable us to strengthen the core experience before adding new content, but also continuously improve it by allowing for more production time to ensure the quality of future updates as well".
Survival was supposed to come out alongside Update 1.4, but that will now show up in October. If you are hoping that will narrow down the released date for the Survival DLC, they sadly won't be out at the same time.
Apparently, the Update 1.4 will focus on "bug fixing, game balancing, and other improvements". There will be loot drops that will be "more relevant to the player", not to mention various balancing will be done across gear sets, weapons, and player versus player combat in the Dark Zone. If you aren't familiar with the Dark Zone, it is that red area of the map that is difficult to play in, but we've written about that and how to survive there.
There will be a complete overview of the patch arriving on September 13. There doesn't seem to be any specific release date for this expansion set DLC, but it probably will arrive early on the Xbox One due to an exclusivity deal that Ubisoft has with Microsoft.
