The romance of Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez has been the topics of tabloids and news outlets lately. While the two have yet to actually comment on reports regarding their romance and reconciliation, sources now claim that the former couple never truly let go of each other. That is, both Bieber and Gomez appear to still touch base on things involving their personal lives. In fact, reports reveal that the Good For You singer is behind the gradual reconciliation between Bieber and his mother.
"Selena is huge on family and thinks Justin could benefit from some much needed, quality time with his mom," revealed a source to Hollywood Life. The insider went on to state, "He's got so much on his plate right now and Selena knows that Pattie always has a soothing affect on Justin. She knows he needs a lot of support right now from the people who know him the best and love him the most. People who have his best interests at heart."
In an earlier interview with Billboard, the What Do You Mean singer admitted that he and his mother has a "pretty nonexisting" relationship at the moment. Bieber revealed that it was him who kept his distance because he felt "ashamed" of his actions. He further admitted, "I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was. We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust. She's living in Hawaii now, so it's hard, but getting better. She's an amazing woman and I love her."
Although Bieber and his mom currently have a rocky relationship, sources claim that Gomez strives to be the peacekeeper between the two. The insiders disclosed that the former Disney star would constantly encourage Bieber to "work things out with Pattie." Apart from imparting pieces of advice to her former boyfriend, Gomez also reportedly keeps in touch with Bieber's mother. Sources share that Taylor Swift's friend sometimes serves as the link between the two when the Sorry artist fails to update his mom.
"Selena knows how important family is, and always reminded Justin to reach out to his mom and check in," shared a source. The insider added, "She has always been somewhat of a peacemaker, and Pattie has always appreciated that. Til this day, when Selena and Justin speak, she will ask about Pattie. These two women know Justin better than anyone else."
