"Comeback is real" for Canadian singer and songwriter, Justin Bieber as his new album "Purpose" has beaten One Direction's latest album "Made In the A.M." for number one in album sales. Both acts premiered their albums on November 13. However, JB's album reigned- this is the 6th no. 1 album and fifth No. 1 debut.
According to Billboard, Bieber's "Purpose" sold 649,000 equivalent album units; 522,000 in pure album sales. While 1D's "Made In the A.M.," sold 459,000 units; 402,000 pure album sales.
"Baby" hitmaker also made remarkable history because his latest album was reportedly broke a Billboard Hot 100 record held by English act Beatles and Canadian rapper Drake.
Blasts from the past, Beatles was holding the mark for the most songs on the Hot 100 in a single week for more than 50 years, while Drake was able to twice total the 14 Hot 100 concurrent hits.
In a recent interview of Entertainment Tonight correspondent, Elvis Durant with Justin, the 21-year-old Canadian artist opened up about his most personal and latest album. "I felt like I lost my purpose for a while," he told Durant. "I just said, 'What am I going through? What am I feeling?' and basically just poured my heart out into this album and made something real," he added.
1D's latest album currently landed at No. 2 on the chart. ET's correspondent Samantha Schillaci got a change to interview the English boy band. During the interview, Harry Styles has confessed.
"I wanted to be a physiotherapist and then all my teachers told me, 'No jobs in that,'" he confessed to Samantha. " I decided I wanted to be a lawyer."
"This happened before I had to start working hard enough to be a lawyer," he joked. "Now I can be like, I would have been a lawyer," he added.
