Is Ziva David coming back to NCIS, and is Cote De Pablo excited about it?
The probability was mentioned in the Christian Post's recent report, to the delight of many fans.
However, the real deal is that this news is pure speculation based on some interesting hints:
A post from the Twitter feed of NCIS director, Dennis Smith, revealed a photo of Smith, De Pablo and co-star, Michael Weatherly, who is De Pablo's love interest, Tony DiNozzo.
The latter retweeted this post to his Twitter feed with the caption: "Ok so how much fun did I have last night?"
The other hints that have fed fodder to the rumor mill were when Weatherly remarked that some "guest stars" will join in later this year, who "will melt the avid NCIS viewer's brain," he said.
Executive producer Gary Glasberg echoed the same thing. The report quotes him as saying there will be "some surprise appearances of people from our NCIS past."
Will Ziva make the cut? This is something the TV show's producers are keeping under wraps.
There is enough reason for fans to want Ziva David to return. One of the main ones in the CBS hit series, Ziva is introduced to the police drama as an Israeli citizen, and who has close ties with Mossad. She is both the daughter of the Mossad Director Eli David and an agent of the Kidon unit. She is also a close friend of NCIS Director Jenny Shepard.
Ziva was a liaison officer for good many years before returning to Mossad in the Season 6 finale, "Aliyah." When she was captured by terrorists in Somalia, she was presumed dead but eventually saved by her colleagues who brought her back to America and facilitated the opportunity for her to be sworn in as a U.S. citizen.
Meanwhile, When Will reports that the current season will run for a total of 24 episodes. There is still no word out about renewing the police procedural drama for season 14, but speculations can be made based on its history.
NCIS ratings slumped slightly in season 12 despite the series still keeping its slot as the one of the most watched on network television. Season 12 averaged 17.26 million viewers per episode while season 13 is currently averaging 17.19 million viewers. If the consistent ratings are any indication, the 14th season may still come through yet.
