The 19 Kids and Counting brood have been known to advocate Christian values, which place a strong emphasis on the importance of marriage, commitment and family life. For a number of years, the clan of Jim Bob Duggar and wife Michelle Duggar have served as the epitome of these Christian beliefs. However, their seemingly perfect world has been shattered when Josh Duggar's teenage indiscretions were shoved into the spotlight. Throughout the ordeal, which included the cancellation of 19 Kids and Counting by TLC and the subsequent slew of critics who bashed the Duggar family, Anna Duggar stood by Josh Duggar and went as far as defending her husband against those who wished him to be incarcerated. The faith of Anna Duggar on the Christian beliefs of her husband, however, eventually fell apart when Josh Duggar was exposed as one of the clients who signed up for the Ashley Madison service - a website that offers "discreet" extramarital affairs to committed men.
As the world condemned Josh Duggar for yet another indiscretion that besmirched the 19 Kids and Counting brood, wife Anna Duggar remained mum on the issue. In fact, the mother of four even attended the wedding of Josh Duggar's cousin, Amy Duggar, to Dillon King weeks following the Ashley Madison scandal broke. Notably absent in the said occasion was Josh Duggar, who was announced to have checked himself in a Christian treatment facility in an effort to combat his weaknesses and a move to show that he is adamant to work on his issues.
While this may seem like a positive sign for the 19 Kids and Counting family, it looks like it might be too late for Josh Duggar to convince his wife, Anna Duggar, that he can still be trusted with their marriage. It could be recalled that Josh Duggar reportedly committed his marital indiscretions while Anna Duggar had been pregnant with their fourth child - a conundrum that might see the 19 Kids and Counting family deal with something they have never faced before: divorce.
"When Josh heard that Anna was contemplating divorce, he flipped out," revealed a source to Hollywood Life. The insider further noted that the move of Anna Duggar to stay with her parents in Florida also allowed the wife of Josh Duggar to contemplate her future with the 19 Kids and Counting star. The source shared that the couple "don't speak on a regular basis."
With the news of a possible divorce proceeding on the table, it looks like Josh Duggar is scrambling to make amends and struggling to seek the forgiveness of wife Anna Duggar. The source said, "He's been begging her not to leave him. He says he's determined to change, by the grace of God, and [he's] working hard to get to that place."
While Josh Duggar grapples with his demons in the Christian treatment facility, Anna Duggar is revealed to be coping with the consequences of the revelations in the past months. "She's good," shared newlywed Amy Duggar King, referring to the status of Anna Duggar these days, according to Us Weekly. She added, "I talk to her a lot. She's doing good. She's strong. I wouldn't be handling it quite the same way."
