No Man's Sky Update: No Release Date Info Yet, Hello Games Hints of Xbox One & Xbox 360 Release

In a crushing blow to loyal fans and the gaming community, Hello Games game developer Sean Murray has confirmed there is still no official release date for the massive space adventure video game, No Man's Sky.

Appearing before CBS' The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last week, Murray said that the release date "is still a secret," when asked by Colbert when fans will have the opportunity to have their hands of the game.

Colbert made the inquiry after he was shown the demo game of No Man's Sky and enjoyed it so much that he commended that "could not wait to play it." But Murray and Hello Games were quick to douse cold waters into the anticipation with this latest development, which spells more waiting time for fans.

During the interview with Colbert, Murray said No Man's Sky will feature more than 18 quintillion planets (18,446,744,073,709,551,616 planets to be exact that if you visit each one for a single second, it will take you 585 billion years to see them all), making it the biggest game title ever to be released in terms of sheer size.

Murray said, "We will find creatures and things that that we never knew existed, we'll find life in places where we didn't expect it."

Murray's interview with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is accessible on the show's official YouTube channel where Murray showcased, discussed and demonstrated the open-universe game. During his presentation, the game developer showed the TV show host how the universe was generated, the number of planets to be explored and how the space adventure works.

In the said episode, No Man's Sky lived up to its hype and wowed Colbert with its amazing features. Colbert and the audience were particularly impressed with the improvements made to the game, including faster generation of planets compared to the demo presented during the recent Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.

Viewers were also treated how players can name planets, plants and animals while playing the game. Murray also assigned names to the animals during the show and named the following animals as Colbison, Stephenus Rex, Colbertasauras, and Molebert which were based on the late night show's host Stephen Colbert.

Given that 'No Man's Sky' will eventually be released on PC, and it's rumored to be released in Oculus Rift, Project Morpheus, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 as well. It is normal for Hello Games to ask for extra hand.

Meanwhile, Hello Games posted a job opening at Gamasutra for a 'Senior Engine Programmer'. What's interesting about the opening is that one of its requirements is that the applicant must have experience in Xbox One and Xbox 360. This triggered speculations that Sony is planning to release No Man's Sky in Xbox Consoles as well?
