"19 Kids and Counting" star Jessa (Duggar) Seewald is continuing to look forward, preparing for the arrival of her firstborn child despite the scandal surrounding her family.
The 22-year old Duggar daughter, who announced in April that she and husband Ben Seewald, 19, were expecting their first child, took to Instagram to share a new photo of her baby bump to mark her 20th week.
"#BabySeewald #20weeks," Jessa captioned the photo, showing her standing in a room with racks of women's clothing in the background.
A short time earlier, the expectant mother shared an ultrasound video of her baby for the first time, writing, "#BabySeewald is growing fast! Already practicing swallowing, sucking a thumb, and actively moving arms and legs! So excited at the feeling of these first baby kicks!" She also quoted Psalm 139:13-18 in the caption, which begins, "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
Both Jessa and her older sister, Jill Dillard, have slowly broken their social media silence after the news broke that 12 years ago, their older brother, Josh Duggar, had "inappropriately touched" five young girls as a young teen.
In an emotional interview with Fox News host Megyn Kelly, the sisters identified themselves as two of Josh's victims but emphasized that they had "already forgiven Josh" and had "moved on" by the time the news broke to the rest of the world.
The girls also addressed charges of hypocrisy aimed at the Duggars for preaching Christian family values while seemingly "hiding" Josh's past mistakes.
"If you go back and look at everything that people have seen in our lives - in television, you know - we've never claimed to be a perfect family," Jill explained.
Their parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, also gave interviews earlier this month, saying they had put "safeguards" in place after they learned about Josh's actions and also emphasized they have never claimed to be a flawless family.
"This isn't something we wanted to come out, but if people can see that ...God can forgive him for these terrible things, then we hope other people realize that God can forgive them and make them a new creature" Jim Bob told Megyn Kelly during the interview, which took place at their Arkansas home.
He added, "Our son violated God's principles in doing improper touching, that was terrible. But I think, what Josh did was inexcusable, but it wasn't unforgivable."
