"What did I just do to myself?" asked Bruce Jenner. The Vanity Fair article goes on to state that "A counselor... came to the house so Jenner could talk to a professional, and assured her that such reactions were often induced by pain medication, and that second-guessing was human and temporary."
In just a few lines, a magazine, long lauded for its elegance and class as well as its dynamic, even royal cover personalities has succeeded in not only supporting the sad gender delusions of the former Olympian, but of also agreeing that Jenner's reaction to his facial reconstruction surgery was not the conviction of the Holy Spirit, but a mere medicinally-induced human reaction that would soon pass.
Has the world gone mad?
Adjectives such as "stunning," "beautiful," and so on have been used to describe the new Bruce Jenner. He is now called a she named "Caitlyn." And throughout his entire public outing process, he has been praised for his bravery. In short, the world at large has sufficiently embraced Bruce Jenner and his delusions of Caitlyn.
Bruce Jenner is a man. A man with very serious spiritual, emotional, and mental issues that cannot be tackled nor corrected through transitional surgeries or cross-dressing.
While Vanity Fair is certainly not a Christian publication and the media is far from conservative, there once was a day when these happenings would have been unseemly even to atheists and God-haters. Godly morals were still upheld and biblical views were respected even if they weren't held by a particular camp to be true. But now, the opposite is true. Yet the Prophet Isaiah warned us of this long ago.
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isaiah 5:20)
And later, Jesus added:
"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were thrown into the sea." (Mark 9:42)
When we call Bruce "Caitlyn" and call him a her, we become part of the problem and not the solution. We are collectively leading the masses astray.
I say "we," but Bible-believing Christians across the nation are openly rejecting these actions; they are calling wrong wrong and sin sin. And we will get hammered by the left because of it. Why? The answer is very simple:
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables." (II Timothy 4:3-4)
Doctrine isn't just preached from the pulpit. It's taught in the classrooms, announced over the airwaves, and read in our magazines. And meanwhile, none of this is helping Bruce to deal with his deep-seated issues. Dr. Michael L. Brown speaks of this phenomenon in his book Can You Be Gay and Christian?
"Did you know that under the leadership of Dr. Paul McHugh, a nationally respected psychology professor, the medical center of Johns Hopkins University stopped performing sex-change surgeries years ago? ...In 1975 when McHugh became a psychiatrist-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, he decided 'to test the claim that men who had undergone sex-change surgery found resolution for their many general psychological problems,' demanding more information before and after surgery. With the help of a fellow psychiatrist, he 'found that most of the patients [his colleague] tracked down some years after their surgery were content with what they had done and that only a few regretted it.'
"But that was only part of the story. McHugh notes that 'in every other respect, they were little changed in their psychological condition.'
'They had much the same problems with relationships, work, and emotions as before. The hope that they would emerge now from their emotional difficulties to flourish psychologically had not been fulfilled.
'We saw the results as demonstrating that just as these men enjoyed cross-dressing as women before the operation so they enjoyed cross-living after it. But they were not better in their psychological integration or any easier to live with. With these facts in hand I concluded that Hopkins was fundamentally cooperating with a mental illness. We psychiatrists, I thought, would do better to concentrate on trying to fix their minds and not their genitalia.'"
In other words, Bruce Jenner has just greatly contradicted himself. His fear was that he'd be lying on his deathbed one day saying, "You just blew your entire life. You never dealt with yourself..." (Vanity Fair). Yet that is precisely what will happen unless God intervenes. Jenner has addressed his symptoms, the actual root of his problems.
We can never correct a problem by declaring deception as truth. In the beginning, "in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them" (Genesis 1:27). Bruce was already created in the image of God as a man; not as a woman. In the eyes of God as well as emotionally, mentally, and biologically, Bruce remains a man. His male nature is entirely irrevocable. So once the excitement of the Vanity Fair dies down and he tires of cross-dressing and cross-living, Bruce will still have to wrestle with the inner demons--and they are demons!--that are causing him to believe that he is a woman trapped in a man's body.
God loves Bruce Jenner. Not because he thinks he's "Caitlyn," because he's part of the "Kardashian Klan," or even because he is an Olympic medalist, but because he is the creation of God. Bruce Jenner, stripped of all make-up and medals is enough for God. If Bruce was the only person alive, Christ would have still come to die for his sins. Bruce Jenner is enough. I just wish he knew it. And I pray that one day, he will embrace who God created him to be and embark upon the only true path of self-discovery which is the discovery of one's self in God.
