Sadie Robertson of the hit TV series "Dancing With the Stars" and "Duck Dynasty" just released her new book, titled "Live Original," which she hopes will show people that they are "beautiful children of God."
Live Original: How the Duck Commander Teen Keeps It Real and Stays True to Her Values hit bookshelves last week, and the 17 year old model shared her hopes for the book.
"Today is the day," the 17-year-old wrote on Twitter and Instagram in a post that was shared by her mom, Kori Robertson, who also wrote the foreword to the book. "My book Live Original is out. I am thankful to God for blessing me with the opportunity to write this book. I pray that many lives are touched through this book."
She added:
"I pray people realize that they are a beautiful child of God, and become confident in that," she added on Twitter. "So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded (Hebrews 10:35 NIV)."
"God has a great plan for you too," added Korie. "Don't think you are too young to make a difference, and don't tell yourself that you'll straighten up your act and start living for God when you get older. God says do it now."
In her book, Robertson shares experiences which helped her grow both her confidence and her reliance on Christ.
One particularly memorable experience, Sadie reveals, occurred at New York Fashion Week 2013 when she revealed her "daddy-approved" fashion line.
"Many of them did not say a single word back to me," she wrote about when she first arrived backstage at the tents and greeted the models with "Hey y'all!" according to Fox News.
"They just looked at me like they had icicles in their eyes," she added.
The "uncomfortable" situation left her feeling awkward and unwelcomed.
"(They) were from places like Russia and other European countries," the Louisiana teen wrote.
"They were pretty obsessed with their weight, so instead of having snacks or treats, they smoked cigarettes and drank coffee," she recalled. "They were quiet, and they seemed either sad or kind of angry."
However, the young model was able to rely on her own confidence, which she says comes from her strong faith.
"They cared way too much about their outward appearance," she wrote. "Confidence is an inside thing. I could have totally lost it over the comments people made and the icy looks they gave me, but I didn't. God has been training me all my life... to be strong and confident."
