Although Duck Dynasty's Sadie Robertson's dancing skills are all her own, the 17 year old star credits dad Willie Robertson for her cute--but modest--Dancing With the Stars dress attire. (Watch Video Below)
On last night's DWTS episode, Sadie and Mark Ballas danced jazz to "She's Country" by Jason Aldean, ending the night with an impressive 31 points.
"I thought you killed it," said Carrie Ann Inaba, while judge Julianne Hough called her a "natural performer."
Surprisingly, the high school junior, who was homeschooled the year prior to being chosen as a DWTS candidate, has never been to a school dance or received formal dance training. Her former school does not allow dancing and instead hosts a junior and senior banquet.
"Duckling no more! Here we have a bird of paradise," said judge Bruno Tonioli after last week's performance.
But for Sadie's dad, Willie Robertson, it is important that his daughter wear modest outfits--something rarely seen on DWTS-- to reflect her Christian faith and commitment to purity.
"Oh, he approved it," Sadie told judges when asked if Willie had given the go-ahead to her outfit. "Daddy's gonna see all the costumes before we go out."
And dance partner Mark Ballas is in full agreement:
"This show has turned this outfit thing into a stereotype," Ballas said. "If you went to a real ballroom competition, of course there are sexy outfits...but every time you see someone on stage in one of those outfits, they chose to wear that. They designed it...that was all their idea."
Ballas added: "I like to keep things a little bit more about the dancing. Make it sassy, make it fun, make it cute and sexy at times, but with [Sadie] it's going to be very appropriate and it's always going to be comfortable. That's my bottom-line rule."
When asked if Willie also reviewed Monday night's jean-and-plaid southern flair outfit, Sadie responded: "Of course. [It's] just a country outfit."
Sadie also emphasizes the importance of modesty to young girls offscreen, recently launching her own clothing line "to encourage modesty in a culture where fashion trends are often contrary to the ways of the Lord."
