As the most popular Android devices have enjoyed the latest Kitkat 4.4.4 operating system update for months now, a few others have been left on the backburner since the June 19th release of both Kitkat 4.4.3 and Kitkat 4.4.4.
Google's own flagship devices usually get these OS updates first, but it's rumored that the next installment -- currently only known as Android L -- will help level the playing field by allowing updates to release more closely together for various devices and carriers.

Nexus 7 LTE
The Nexus 7 2013 LTE version tablet has just received this crucial update that should fix major bug issues that were introduced with 4.4.2 and 4.4.3, including a major security flaw in OpelSSL. Users can update via the Over-the-Air notification on the device, or manually through the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) for advanced users.
While the Nexus 7 LTE is the last of the Nexus devices to receive the update, Google has so far neglected to communicate the reasons.
Asus Zenfone 4, 5, and 6
In the same boat as the Nexus 7 LTE, the Asus Zenfones have just received the final update to Android Kitkat. While the latest Zenphone was launched with Android 4.4.3 on the same day that 4.4.4 was released, this is the first time this trio of phones have received the latest Kitkat update.
Galaxy Note 10.1
In addition to the 4.4.4 update coming to the Nexus 7 LTE and Zenfone trio for the first time, the last bit of the newest update is arriving to Samsung Galaxy Note devices worldwide. The Galaxy Note 10.1 in particular is enjoying updated software in Korea and China on both Wifi and 3G versions.
This 4.4.4 update will be the final version of Kitkat as we hope to see a release date for Android L (rumored to be called Lollipop) coming very soon. As is typical of these Android updates, not all phones for all users will update simultaneously, so you may still have to wait a bit longer if your device has yet to update.
