With Apple's iPhone 6 securely in the hands of many enthusiastic fans, attention is now aimed at what's next for the technology company. This month's Apple meeting will happen on October 16th, and speculation focuses on new iPads, new iMacs, and possibly more on the iPod Touch 6G.
iPad Air 2 - October 16 Launch
This 9.7-inch iPad will be the first new iPad in a year as the company's tablet market continues to slow in relation to its smartphone revenues. The iPad Air 2 is said to introduce the wildly popular gold color that customers can now enjoy on other Apple devices, as well as 2GB RAM, Touch ID, split window multitasking, and be available in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB models.
iPad Mini 3 - October 16 - 21 Launch
The newest iPad mini will most likely be announced to launch on the same day as the iPad Air 2, but stranger things have happened. This smaller iPad is rumored to be 30% thinner and include the same Touch ID fingerprint security technology as the iPad Air 2, just in time for Apple Pay.
iPod Touch 6G - October 16 - 21 Launch
This sixth generation of the iPod Touch is a bit of a surprise as the last iPod Touch was released over two years ago. But Apple hasn't abandoned the line completely. The rumored iPod Touch 6G is said to include the new iOS 8, Touch ID, and stay closer in line with the improvements made to the iPhone 6.
This October Apple event is also said to introduce the new Mac operating system, OS X Yosemite, as well as Apple Pay. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sales numbers should be a big topic as the company has enjoyed solid sales in the first month. And finally, the controversial "bendgate" should finally be addressed as iPhone users are reporting increased issues with warped phones.
