The Young and the Restless (Y&R) fans will see actor Scott Elrod joining the cast as Avery Clarks' ex-husband, Joe.
Last Monday, TV Guide revealed that the former "Men in Trees" star is appearing on Y&R in early October. Besides TV performances, Elrod has acted in films that include Lone Survivor, and the Academy Award-winning movie Argo.
"Viewers can expect Joe to have more than a few tricks up his sleeve as he crosses paths with several key Y&R characters," a show representative stated in the TV Guide report.
In past episodes, Joe Clark is mentioned many times by Avery -- who still suffers from remorse after having an affair with war-veteran Dylan McAvoy that led to the divorce.
Flash-forward to the present, Dylan is near death after donating part of his liver to his biological father Paul Williams -- whom was shot in an earlier altercation with Austin. Paul wakes up in a state of utter panic and confusion, while Dylan flatlines on the hospital bed.
As a consequence, Y&R fans have speculated whether both father and son will ever be the same after the surgery.
Y&R is one of CBS' longer-running shows -- having premiered over forty years ago. The show's premise revolves around a wide range of characters living in Genoa City, a fictional Midwestern urban center.
Now going into Season 41, the 'The Young and the Restless' has won seven Daytime Emmy Awards, and has been syndicated both in the U.S. and abroad.
