Photos of the new iPad were leaked Wednesday from within the Chinese supply chain, which lead to speculations that Apple is redesigning its fifth-generation iPad.
The photos, which were obtained by the French tech site Nowhereelse.fr, show the iPad glass along with a thinner bezel. These features shown indicate that the screen will remain the same size at 9.7 inches while decreasing the tablet's overall size and weight.
Sources told DigiTimes that the new iPad would be "thinner and lighter than the fourth-generation one and will adopt a slim bezel design, similar to that of the iPad Mini."
The leaked images has not been verified by Apple and probably won’t be until the release of the end product.
The French tech site calls the image the "first evidence of the imminent release of the next iPad," but general consensus for this 'leaked' photo are that they should be reviewed with skepticism.
The Latino Post reported that Apple hasn’t started production of the next generational tablet yet, but will start this summer.
