Oscar winner Halle Berry is pregnant at age 46 with her second child. The actress rubbed her stomach for photographers and then posing with both hands cradling it at the premier for “The Call” in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Berry is expecting her first child with fiancé Olivier Martinez.
“I feel fantastic,” Berry said in an interview with CNN on Tuesday. “This has been the biggest surprise of my life to tell you the truth.”
Already the mother to 5-year-old Nahla (with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry), Berry didn’t think she would be pregnant again, since she had troubles conceiving in the past.
“I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me.”
Last November, Berry shared on “The Wendy Williams Show” that she thinks that she is a “better mother” in her 40s than in her 20s. She explained that she would be unprepared to care for the child at that age, when she was only still trying to figure out who she was. “I’m so glad I waited,” she said.
“Every night, we do our prayers,” she noted. “We pray to God, so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we’ve got to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taken so long?”
