After five years of being apart, F4 members of the famed Taiwanese television drama "Meteor Garden" reunited in a recording for the Jiang-su Satellite TV’s Spring Festival Gala. They embraced each other in prayer, creating a deeply moving scene for their fans.
Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu, and Ken Chu (the four members of the previous F4 who gained fame in “Meteor Garden”) caused quite a commotion for many fans. Now, through connections made through Jiang-su Satellite TV, this previously rather well known Asian group once again sang during the Spring Festival.
On January 30th, a moving scene appeared during the recording session. Vanness Wu’s Weibo instant upload showed a photo of Jerry Yan, Vic Zhou, Vanness Wu, and Ken Chu praying in embrace, which touched the hearts of many online friends and fans.
Previously, the media has leaked that Yan and Chu bore grudges between each other. But after this prayer session, Yan was touched to actively apologize to Chu, and the two subsequently reconciled through an embrace.
Reportedly, this prayer session was initiated by Wu, who is Christian. Wu’s testimony of faith is well known to many, since he has participated in numerous Taiwanese Evangelical artist gatherings organized by various churches, used his voice and words to spread the Gospel, and gained much recognitions.
Wu also preached the Gospel to the other members of F4, and there are rumors that Yan is now in the catechumen stage (which has not been confirmed by him in person). Nevertheless, Wu plays a big role in the religious life of the members of F4. This group prayer session and the reconciliation of Yan and Chu are both good examples.
This photo of F4 praying in embrace has led to much discussion online, created much craze in those born after the 80’s, and rekindled many pleasant memories. Make-up artist ELEP also commented through her Weibo: “It’s been 12 years, and they are still very good-looking. The prayer in embrace before the recording was really as touching as a meteor shower!”
