New York - The Committee of Concerned Christians of Queens (CCCQ) held a press conference today, to show the signatures they have collected for the petition of the Municipal Lot 1.
CCCQ launched the petition for a people's development plan of the Municipal Lot 1, Flushing three weeks ago. The petition aims to demand the right of the people of Flushing in the plan of Municipal Lot 1, which plans to seal a land measures 1,650,000sq. ft. to the developer. They called upon the residents of Flushing to sign and support the petition, which was written in English, Chinese, Spanish and Korean.
By March 18, Friday, CCCQ collected a total of 5,674 names. They also invited city officials and developers to attend the press conference, and the public who signed the petition were also present at the press conference to witness its presentation.
CCCQ expressed their hope in the petition that "all can have a fair share of benefits to this great city's cultural and economic growth".
