The Chinese Bible International Ltd. issued their Cantonese Audio Bible last week. The making of the Cantonese Audio Bible lasted for more than 13 years. This labor resulted in an eighty-eight-hour-long Audio Bible, which is narrated by expert co-workers with original background music.

Feb 26, CBI held a dedication service for this Cantonese Audio Bible. Dr. Angela Ching Chi Tam from the Alliance Bible Seminary delivered message in the service, telling that the audio Bible allows the people of God to "listen" to the Word, which is the original attitude that men should have towards God.

Zi-chiu Sham, the general director of CBI shared the vision of the Cantonese Audio Bible after the service: it came from a simple will - to allow the ones who cannot read hear the Word and know God. Further more, CBI didn't make the audio by simply reading the verses, but they sought to make it more attractive by used the method of story-telling and added background music to express the emotions better.

The co-workers who participated in the making also shared in the meeting. Sister Oi-yeun Yun, who was in charge of arranging the music, said, "God is the Lord of music. Who am I? But He allowed me to be His co-worker. I could only depend on prayers.... If you are willing to obey, God will accomplish His great work through your humbleness."

And brother Hing-weng Lee, one of the main narrators of the Audio Bible, shared that the joy and satisfaction from completing this work blew away all the hardships that they endured through during the 13 years of work.

As the Cantonese Audio Bible issued formally, a new ministry has started, too. CBI launched an "Audio Bible Donate Program", which aims to raise HKD 100,000 (USD 12,500) in the first step, and distribute this Cantonese Audio Bible to 200 hospitals and elder centers.

According to CBI, another Mandarin Audio Bible is also being manufactured currently. They hope that as the Mandarin version finishes, more Chinese will receive renewal in their life through listening to the Word of God.
