According to the Assemblies of God, its first ever television special, “A Caring Community,” will be broadcasted on Inspiration Networks on Saturday, October 16, at 10 p.m. (EST). Cornerstone Television will also carry the program on Sunday, October 24, at 2 p.m. (EST) and again, Tuesday, October 26, at 12:30 a.m. (EST).
Featuring A/G churches from across the nation, this hour-long presentation will focus on how A/G churches are involved in and reaching their communities for Christ.
"We are pleased to give people this opportunity to witness the heart of compassion and ministry within the Assemblies of God," says General Superintendent Thomas Trask. "I believe 'A Caring Community' will draw those wanting to be involved in Christ-centered, compassionate ministries to our church doors -- as well as those in need of compassionate ministry."
Last month, the General Council of the Assemblies of God cooperated with Inspiration Networks (INSP) to develop television programs reaching out to the spiritually and physically needy people. Both A/G and INSP refer to this effort as Cooperative Ministry because it is the cooperation between the two organizations.
David Cerullo, president and CEO of The Inspiration Networks, commented that INSP is pleased to work with the Assemblies of God for its reputation of reaching out to positively impact people's lives emotionally and spiritually in relation with God. Cerullo also said that A/G has helped numerous people around the world through many other programs and activities besides the traditional venues in churches, such as publishing magazines, establishing higher education programs with several colleges and many types of humanitarian outreach.
While comparing with A/G, Cerullo complimented INSP for its diverse curriculum. "The Inspiration Networks also has a diverse means of reaching people for God's kingdom," Cerullo adds. "Our diverse outreach include several television networks, the production of daily ministry programs, an television program and club for children, and an outreach for teens. The two ministries will complement one another as we seek new ways to share the good news of the Gospel."
INSP is a 24 hour-a-day cable television network which targets millions of Americans who embrace inspirational values. INSP features original and exclusive music, children's programs and a wide variety of different ministry programming in effort of impact lives worldwide for Christ through media.
