Logan Lerman, who played as Percy Jackson in two movies, said back in 2014 that the third movie of the series titled "the Titan's Curse" will not happen. Many fans were surprised to the revelation, as they were hoping Lerman would continue Percy's adventure. However, rumors claim CW Network plans to make Percy Jackson TV series with a new set of characters.
The first Percy Jackson movie titled "The Lightning Thief" was released in 2010. It was followed by "The Sea of Monsters" in 2013. Many fans believed the third film would be released last year, based on the three-year release pattern of the franchise. But it did not happen.
As an addition to Percy Jackson 3 rumors, Paloma Kwiatkowski said that she signed to play in three movies of Percy Jackson franchise. Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, and Brandon T. Jackson, also signed for the three-movie contract back in 2010. However, as of now, there's still no update about Percy Jackson: the Titan's Curse release date or even its production.
During the Santa Barbara Film Festival in 2015, Logan Lerma said while the third movie would be excellent to make, he admitted the characters were growing too old for their roles. "I think we all are getting a little old to play those characters," he said when asked if fans should anticipate the third Percy Jackson movie.
Lerma's recent film is Sidney Hall, where he plays as an aspiring young novelist. On the other hand, his co-star Alexandra Daddario takes on more mature roles like Lisa Tragnetti in True Detective TV series and Summer Quin in Baywatch. Therefore, retaining them in the movie series would be inappropriate.
As of now, there's still no update regarding the new set of actors in Percy Jackson TV show. CW Network has reportedly allocated a budget of $12 million for the production of the series. The network is allegedly going to cast new, emerging actors in the show, according to insiders. The number episodes are also not yet determined.
Interestingly, there are two petitions in Change.org that pushes 20th Century Fox to make the third movie. Follow the #WeNeedTitansCurse for more updates about the campaign.
The Titan's Curse is the third novel in Rick Riordan's fantasy novel series. It follows the next adventure of fourteen-year-old demigod Percy Jackson as goes on a dangerous mission to rescue Annabeth Chase and the Greek goddess Artemis, both have kidnapped by a powerful monster.
Meanwhile, there's a Percy Jackson and The Titan's Curse listing in IMDB. But this is only a fan film by JDS Media and not connected to 20th Century Fox or CW Network. Take note that there are many fake trailers and websites of Titan's Curse around the internet, so don't take them as plain truth.
