The next Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) is approaching very fast. And it means we'll get to see a host of new devices from the Cupertino-based tech giant. One of the most awaited devices in the event is the larger 10.5-iPad Pro. Now, let's find out the latest news about Apple 10.5-iPad Pro release date, specs, and price.
Last month, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a report about the highlights of WWDC 2017. Aside from the usual previews of new MacOS, watchOs, iOs and TVOs, the report says we'll also hear several announcements of improved devices.
Blogger Benjamin Geskin has posted on Twitter the renders of 10.5-iPad Pro, citing sources from China. Early versions of the renders do not have a home button, but the final version of the device will definitely have a home button just like other iPad Pros.
If you remember, previous rumors suggest the newly designed iPad Pro will be a bezel-less tablet. However, the leaked design shows the 10.5-iPad Pro has 7mm side bezel and 19mm top and bottom bezels. Basically, the new iPad Pro and the current 9.7 iPad Pro have the same body, but the former has a bigger display screen.
Raymond Soneira, president of DisplayMate Technologies, claims the aspect ratio of the new iPad Pro would also become bigger to keep outside dimensions the same. Soneira also applauds Apple designers for improving the display feature of the tablet despite its thinner bezel.
Furthermore, IHS Markit analyst Rhoda Alexander says the display resolution will also increase in order to keep up with the larger screen.
For other features, the 10.5-iPad Pro is said to have three microphones around its body, one on the upper-center, and two on the top. Plus, it has quad-speaker audio for bass-rich sounds.
Apple usual updates the processor of a new iPad. In the case of 10.5-iPad Pro, we might see a version of A10 processor installed in the iPhone 7.
The price of the tablet is not yet revealed. Some tech experts say it could be priced around $599, the same price range of the current 9.7-inch iPad Pro.
So far, the 9.7-inch version of iPad Pro is the best among all currently released tablets in terms of screen reflectance, peak brightness, color accuracy, contrast rating in high ambient light, and smallest color variation. It is interesting to see if the 10.5-inch variant would beat its predecessor in the categories mentioned above. Let's find out.
