The newest Nokia 9 leak might end all the rumors and speculations surrounding the device. Popular mobile tipster Evan Blass posted a clip on Twitter showing the initial design of the handset. If this clip is the first promotional video of the handset, then we are lucky to see firsthand the not-yet-announced Nokia 9.
Here's the latest round-up of update on Nokia 9 release date, features and specs.
As we already know, HMD Global, which has licensed the right to develop Nokia phones, is making three new models of the brand, namely Nokia 3, 5, and 6. In addition, many tech lovers are waiting for the revival of the legendary Nokia 3310.
Now, the Nokia brand is attempting to make a comeback by launching the Nokia 9. However, the HMD Global is quietly making the handset and successfully keeping the specs from the public.
Based on the leaked video, which was originally posted in Vimeo, the Nokia 9 has dual-camera setup on its back. Trusted sources from different tech websites claim the handset will sport a 22 megapixel dual-sensor for its main camera. If this is true, then we might see a photography-centric device for the top-end Nokia handset.
The leaked video has been pulled out. However, CNET researchers traced the source of the clip. It was uploaded by a man named George Chevalier Lewis. He was reportedly been hired by HMD as an art director for Nokia smartphones. In his LinkedIn profile, it says he used to work as director of photography in Nokia.
For other features of the smartphone, it looks like the Nokia 9 doesn't have a home button on the front while the back doesn't have a fingerprint scanner. Previous reports claim the upcoming Nokia handset will feature fingerprint scanner, instead of a traditional home button.
As for the release date, HMD Global might announce the Nokia 9 next month. The phone maker has not yet announced an official date for press event but it'll definitely reveal the Nokia 8 or Nokia 9 in the next coming months.
Meanwhile, the lock screens of the smartphones featured in the leaked promotional video show a specific date, November 25. This might be the release date of the Nokia 9.
We'll give you an update as soon as we know more. Keep it locked here in Gospel Herald.
