Android Police took some screenshots on how the squeeze functions works. First, users have to go through a process of testing their squeeze strength, and a digital assistant will guide them how to use the innovative function. The new input can be used to take photos, launch Google Assistant, send messages and open many different kinds of apps.
Tech enthusiasts say the pressure-sensitive frame of HTC U11 would definitely help the smartphone to stand out in the highly-competitive smartphone market. Also, users can use the phone without obscuring the screen.
In terms of overall design, the new HTC smartphone is pretty sleek with clean metallic backplate, an improvement from the basic design of the outgoing HTC 10, as per report from The Verge. The HTC 11 sports a 5.5-inch 1440p display with 534 ppi for clearer images. Its screen is also protected with Gorilla Glass 5 for durability and toughness.
Inside, the HTC 11 is powered with the latest octa-core Qualcomm flagship Snapdragon 835 partnered with the Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of RAM. With 64GB of internal storage, users have also plenty of storage for their files. It can also be further expanded up to 2TB via memory card.
Of course, the new HTC U11 will not be complete without new optics. Mobile Scout reported the handset offers 12.2MP Sony IMX362 lens on the rear with dual tone LED flash and f/1.7 aperture. The rear camera can also shoot 4k videos. For selfies, the handset has 15.8MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture.
Pre-orders for HTC U11 is expected to go live on May 16 and will hit tech stores a week after the launching.
