The Chicago Bears' decision to unload Jay Cutler from their roster raised questions especially in light of the quarterback shortage in the NFL these days. While some experts feel that this was a good decision, others think that the team may have made the wrong move. Nevertheless, a Jay Cutler contract is currently up for grabs in the league with the Denver Broncos, Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers reportedly interested in the quarterback.
Rumors are rife that the Miami Dolphins might also be interested in signing a Jay Cutler contract this NFL season. Strengthening the offensive lineup of the team seems to be one of the priorities of the front office and coaching staff in the offseason. At the moment, no official comment has been given by the parties tagged in this NFL rumor. In fact, head coach Adam Gase clarified that there remains no talks regarding the possibility of a Jay Cutler contract in the team.
"I had a very brief text message exchange with him [this offseason] just saying that if he needs anything to holler at me," shared Gase of his connection with Jay Cutler. "I guess it was more if you're going somewhere and you need to know about it -- any organization or coaching staff -- just holler at me and I'll give you what I know. I've never brought up anything about coming with us [to Miami] because I like our situation. I love Jay, but I do like the situation we've got going on right now at our place."
While these statements seemed to have discouraged others, some fans of Jay Cutler found comfort in the earlier comments of the Miami Dolphins head coach. Their belief was further bolstered by the fact that Ryan Tannehill remains uncertain with his health concerns coming in the training season.
"I think he's a starting quarterback in the NFL," described Gase of Jay Cutler. He further noted, "To me, he was an athletic quarterback that can throw the ball. When you got to third down you could call the worst play possible and he would get the conversion. He made a lot of things that we did look really good. I think he has a lot to offer a team."
