The Seattle Seahawks have been attempting a comeback season ever since their disastrous Super Bowl run against the New England Patriots in 2014 - the same game that was said to have pushed the Marshawn Lynch retirement at an earlier date. While the Kam Chancellor team regroups this offseason, one of their main concerns is how to provide Russell Wilson better chances at avoiding injuries. With this in mind, a Jay Cutler contract is deemed a possible solution.
The decision of the Chicago Bears to cut off the Jay Cutler contract from their roster showed the NFL team's desire to possibly rebuild their roster. Despite the recent Mark Sanchez contract signing the group announced, reports indicate that the Zach Miller team is still looking into acquiring a younger quarterback to build their team around on. So, what will happen to Jay Cutler?
Rumors are rife that the Seattle Seahawks are on the lookout for another quarterback to add to their roster. Despite the promising offseason regiment of Russell Wilson, the Kam Chancellor team seems to be making sure that their next Super Bowl journey will not be ruined if ever the quarterback gets sidelined. With this concern in mind, the Richard Sherman team is said to be looking into signing a Jay Cutler contract.
"Carroll acknowledged following the loss to Atlanta that the injury-ravaged year of Russell Wilson would make Seattle at least think about whether the Seahawks might want to add rethink going with an untested backup quarterback," said Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. The analyst further noted that most NFL teams need at least three quarterbacks coming in the training sessions. This bolstered the belief of many fans that a Jay Cutler contract to the Seattle Seahawks may actually happen. However, no official comment has been given on the NFL rumor.
Meanwhile, fans of the Seattle Seahawks are in for a treat in the next NFL season as Russell Wilson seems to be working hard every day in preparation for their next Super Bowl run. Doug Baldwin, the team's wide receiver, disclosed that their leader has been "grinding his butt off."
"I keep tabs on him during the offseason to check in with the guys that are around him to see how he's doing, and what I've heard just recently was that he's being an animal right now," shared Baldwin of Russell Wilson. He further noted, "I couldn't be more excited about it, because when Russell Wilson goes, our whole team goes. And so for him to be where he's at now after all the injuries that he's endured during the past season, I'm really excited about our chances for this season."
