The Philadelphia Eagles have been looking for better ways to support the growth of young quarterback Carson Wentz in the league. While his debut season was not as wildly lauded as Dak Prescott with the Dallas Cowboys, the young star of the Darren Sproles team proved to be quite a find for his current NFL team. However, it looks like the front office wants to kick their performance up a notch and add yet another promising young quarterback - one who has been struggling to prove his worth in the past seasons.
Earlier this month, the Cleveland Browns decided to release Robert Griffin III following a disastrous season with them. Amid his promises to become a better leader and supporter of his team especially after his problematic season with the Washington Redskins, his injuries seemed to have thwarted his efforts. Now, RG3 is once again on the lookout for the next NFL team willing to take a chance on him.
"I'm not an idiot, I know a lot of people writing me off as a player, as a quarterback, saying I couldn't do it. And to go out and show that I can, I think that proves a lot of people wrong," shared RG3 of his status in the NFL.
Rumors are rife that the Philadelphia Eagles might want to sign an RG3 contract to complement Carson Wentz. One of the biggest concerns for the younger quarterback is the possibility of season-ending injuries to halt his progress. Hence, the Nick Foles team reportedly aims to have a healthy supply of quarterbacks in the rotation to avoid overworking their young star.
"He's a big quarterback. He has a great arm. He's very athletic. I know his mental capacity is talked about a lot, he's a very bright individual," said Nick Foles of Carson Wentz. "After watching his rookie year on film -- we played similar opponents, so we were able to study the film because we have such similar offenses -- I thought he did really well. I really do. I think he's going to continue to excel. That's just his personality. I'm glad to be part of it."
At this point, no official comment has been provided by the parties tagged in this NFL rumor. However, some RG3 fans believe that the Philadelphia Eagles could be the best destination for the former Cleveland Browns star. What do you think?
