The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to beef up their roster as quickly as possible while the rest of the league gets busy with the NBA playoffs. With the D'Angelo Russell squad out of the running this season, the group seems to be brewing its comeback plans for the next year. Among the big changes anticipated from the Brandon Ingram team is the reported Andre Iguodala contract courtesy of Luke Walton.
The Golden State Warriors lost a great coach when Luke Walton agreed to move to the Los Angeles Lakers following their disastrous Kobe Bryant tour performance under Byron Scott. Now, it looks like the former Stephen Curry mentor is stepping up his game and is recruiting some of the seasoned players for his previous team to join his current group. Does this mean that more players from the Dub Nation might be moving to the Los Angeles Lakers soon?
Rumors are rife that the Golden State Warriors have been divided since the exit of Luke Walton from their staff. According to some sources, the Dub Nation has been facing locker room issues especially with the entry of another superstar Kevin Durant and the way the lineup was adjusted. Will the locker room resentment of the Draymond Green squad lead to a potential Andre Iguodala contract to the Los Angeles Lakers?
"The Luke Walton question is an interesting one," noted Ethan Strauss of the TrueHoop Show after an unnamed member of the Golden State Warriors roster shared that the team has been facing issues off the court. "I think what happened with Luke Walton in some ways speaks to some of the issues this team has where his success undermined Kerr's authority."
He added, "They played the best basketball they ever had when Kerr was not coaching the team, when Luke was letting them do a lot of what they really wanted and Draymond (Green) was essentially player-coach and that has ratcheted up the tension, I believe, between those two figures. And so it's so hard to say. Is it because they miss Luke Walton? Or Luke Walton's presence on the team and the success that came with it came to haunt them in some way."
If this has an inkling of truth, then there remains the possibility of Golden State Warriors star jumping off ship by next season. Will Andre Iguodala be one of them? Will Luke Walton lure the experienced veteran to be one of the mentors of the young and thriving Los Angeles Lakers?
