The Golden State Warriors are working hard to keep their top seed in the West as the San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets slowly rack up wins to potentially unseat Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson. With Kevin Durant off the lineup due to injuries, the Andre Iguodala squad seems to be reconsidering ways to ensure that the group remains stronger than ever especially coming in the 2017 NBA playoffs. Will a Paul Millsap contract be a good option for the Dub Nation?
The Atlanta Hawks had an interesting season especially with the entry of Dwight Howard in the group. Adding an experienced veteran, who played with the likes of Kobe Bryant and James Harden, provided the Dennis Schroder squad with renewed energy and focus. However, the front office is said to still be dissatisfied with the performance of the team. Will there be big changes again soon?
Rumors are rife that the Atlanta Hawks are quietly shopping a Paul Millsap contract to potentially sign new stars who can complement their top players. Among the interested parties reportedly are the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings. However, it looks like the Golden State Warriors are making a strong case for both the NBA team and the player supposedly on the trading block.
At this point though, no official comment has been given by the parties tagged in the NBA rumor. Earlier this season, the Atlanta Hawks shared their insistence that Paul Millsap will be with the team next season.
"Paul Millsap is not going to be traded, and Paul Millsap is absolutely our priority this offseason, in re-signing him with the Atlanta Hawks," asserted GM Wes Wilcox. "We've communicated that to Paul, his team, and we feel great about our position there. We also don't want to hide from the fact that, yeah, we took a long, hard look at it earlier in the season, during a period of time where our team was struggling, and ultimately decided that Paul is far too valuable to us. And through that period of time and that exercise, we made that decision to absolutely keep Paul. and he is certainly our priority."
This may be a clean cut way of keeping out potential buyers but fans look back to the situation with Kyle Korver who was suddenly shipped to the Cleveland Cavaliers. What do you think? Will the Atlanta Hawks pull another fast one to unload the massive Paul Millsap contract from their roster? Will the Golden State Warriors be the best place for the star?
