Earlier this year, any hope of signing a Michael Vick contract had been dashed due to the announcement of the veteran's retirement. However, it looks like the controversial former Philadelphia Eagles star has kept his doors open for a potential comeback in one of his interviews, the ex-Atlanta Falcons leader shared that the phenomenal leadership of Tom Brady that brought another Super Bowl trophy to the New England Patriots inspired him.
"As soon as I made the announcement I wanted to come back out of retirement. I'm getting cold feet, man. Just watching the game last night - Tom Brady really inspired me. The reason is, I know how hard he worked. We had the game, Atlanta had the game but a guy like Tom, it's just a testament to how hard he worked," shared Michael Vick.
He added, "I'm just going to keep my options open. As of right now I'm officially retired but I'm going to continue to work out, I'm going to get myself in tip-top shape and just leave the door open. Things happen throughout the course of a season, guys get hurt. I have a lot of relationships with a lot of coaches around the league and I don't think I should discredit those services. I should always be serviceable and accessible just in case somebody needs me one day."
No official confirmation has been provided by the parties tagged in this NFL rumor. However, a lot of fans feel that a Michael Vick contract to the Dallas Cowboys could provide a temporary solution to Jerry Jones. With Dak Prescott looking to play an even better sophomore year, the Dez Bryant squad would simply need a mentor to help the young quarterback master the league's rules. More importantly, this would allow them to finally agree to a Tony Romo trade with other football teams in the NFL.
