The Dallas Cowboys had a successful NFL season under the leadership of Dak Prescott and Zek Elliot. Even without the veteran presence of Tony Romo to help the Dez Bryant squad, they made Jerry Jones proud of their accomplishments. Amid their success, it looks like the Dallas Cowboys are ready to take another risk this offseason.
Even before the 2016-17 NFL season, talks of a Johnny Manziel contract had been circulating the Dallas Cowboys organization. While the majority of the NFL turned their backs on Johnny Football, the fans of the Dak Prescott team seem to have a soft spot for the former Heisman trophy winner. Will a Johnny Manziel contract be signed with the Dallas Cowboys soon?
Rumors are rife that the Tony Romo trade talks would be over soon with the veteran walking away from the NFL team and completely handing over the leadership role to Dak Prescott. With an opening in the quarterback position available, the Dallas Cowboys could be looking at free agents to fill the spot. This pushed fans to speculate that Jerry Jones could consider a Johnny Manziel contract. After all, allowing Dak Prescott to lead the team had been a risk. Fans think that the Dallas Cowboys might be open to another risk this offseason.
At the moment, the parties tagged in this NFL rumor have yet to comment on the matter. For his part, Johnny Football seems to be trying hard to get his life in order. In a recent hearing of his case, the former Heisman trophy winner shared his goal to fix his issues and become a better person.
"Everything has been going extremely smoothly and my life is trending upward, so I don't even want to let this get anywhere near the rabbit hole that you were describing. This situation is in my hands, . . . I need to get my life in order. These are the things I need to do," said Johnny Manziel in one of his hearings.
Meanwhile, Dak Prescott has been quoted to express confidence on the chances of the Dallas Cowboys to once again impress NFL fans next season. In fact, the young quarterback believes the Zek Elliot team has a shot at actually winning the Super Bowl.
"So confident," said Dak Prescott of his team. "I don't think anyone has more confidence in me than I do in myself. Not only myself but this team, organization, it's the Cowboys. We're excited for what's to come for our growth as a unit, as a team as an organization. We've got a great young team and we're looking for a lot more."
