The Denver Broncos are prepared to spare no expense to bring in quality players in the Von Miller team. With their disappointing NFL season under Paxton Lynch and Trevor Siemian, the former Peyton Manning group has a lot of making up to do to their football fans. Since the rookie quarterback has yet to fully realize his potential, it looks like the front office intends to sign a Josh McCown contract to help with the young talent.
Talks of where a Josh McCown contract will be next season have been dominating the NFL rumor mill this month. While no official comment has been given so far, experts claim that the Denver Broncos would be the perfect landing spot for the veteran. This move, if it actually happens, could give Paxton Lynch the much needed boost to his NFL performance.
"If I'm a back up, I'd like to go somewhere where I can really mentor a young QB and work with him to make him better," shared Josh McCown of his future in the NFL.
For their part, the Denver Broncos seem to be determined to maximize their resources to bring better players in the roster. While a Josh McCown contract has yet to actually be confirmed, rumors are rife that the front office won't be cheap in dealing with the quarterback.
"The Denver Broncos have made it clear they're ready to spend in free agency if a player, or three, inspires them to do so," revealed Jeff Legwold of ESPN. He went on to state, "Broncos president/CEO Joe Ellis recently said the Broncos were in position to 'put a lot of money back into the team,' but he was also quick to add that both he, and Elway, favor 'a disciplined approach; you can't spend foolishly because that gets you in trouble financially, and it can divide your locker room.'"
Meanwhile, the possibility of a Josh McCown contract does not seem to affect Trevor Siemian too much. According to the current Denver Broncos quarterback, he is focused on his own progress. He shared, "It doesn't [bother me]. I'm sure we're going to get another quarterback - I don't know who it'll be - [but] there's only two of us now."
What do you think? Should the Denver Broncos sign a Josh McCown contract this offseason? Will the veteran be a good mentor to Paxton Lynch?
