The Oakland Raiders had been Super Bowl favorites in the previous season. However, the injuries that plagued the team, especially quarterback Derek Carr, cut their championship journey short. Before the next NFL season starts though, it looks like the team is looking to add a Tony Romo contract in an effort to bolster their quarterback support in the future.
The Dallas Cowboys surprised the league when the team managed to rise from the problems caused by Tony Romo injuries under the leadership of Dak Prescott. While Jerry Jones remains attached to the veteran quarterback, the front office appears to be making sure that the emotional connection of the two won't affect the business aspect of the organization.
Rumors are rife that the Oakland Raiders are contenders in the Tony Romo trade talks. While some fans are not convinced this could help their Super Bowl run next NFL season, others believe that the winning culture from the Dallas Cowboys locker room could boost the Aldon Smith team in the future. At this point though, no official comment has been provided by any of the parties concerned in the NFL trade rumor.
For their part, Derek Carr and his team are convincing the league of the quarterback's return to his old form. David Carr, the Oakland Raiders' star's brother, shared that the NFL player has reached a hundred percent in his recovery.
"I tell you guys he's [Derek Carr] 100 percent but you don't believe me, you have to ask Donald," said the NFL analyst. He added, "He's going to be great. He's good. Walking around already, stretching it out. He can't do a lot for the bone, but he's going to be back. He'll get a whole full offseason in, and that's going to be the best part."
Meanwhile, fans of the Dallas Cowboys are hoping to still see Tony Romo in the gridiron alongside Dez Bryant and Zek Elliot. In fact, Jerry Jones insisted that he and the veteran quarterback have yet to reach an agreement on his future. It remains to be seen if a Tony Romo contract will still be with the Dallas Cowboys next season.
