The Golden State Warriors are keeping an eye out of the Western Conference NBA trade talks especially after the shocking DeMarcus Cousins trade to the New Orleans Pelicans. With the former Sacramento Kings leader joining forces with Anthony Davis, the teamup of Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green may be facing serious competition. With this in mind, it looks like the Zaza Pachulia team might need reinforcements once again.
The possibility of a Paul George trade before the deadline is still dangled among NBA teams this week. While the Indiana Pacers have yet to actually comment on the matter, it looks like the NBA All-Star 2017 MVP is ready to make his move. In a situation that strongly resembles that of the Kevin Durant free agency period, Paul George openly declared his desire to play for a winning team.
At this point, the Indiana Pacers are sixth place in the Eastern Conference. Trailing behind the Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, Washington Wizards and Boston Celtics, the team might still get overtaken by the Chicago Bulls or Detroit Pistons in the playoffs. Given the recent performances of the Indiana Pacers, some critics feel that they would nothing short of a miracle to actually challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers of LeBron James seriously for the top spot. Does this mean that the time is right for a Paul George trade?
"As I told Larry, I always want to play on a winning team," shared Paul George in an interview. He added, "I always want to be part of a team that has a chance to win it (all). That's important. Say what you want; I want to compete for something. It's frustrating just playing the game for stats or for numbers or to showcase yourself. Man, I want a chance to play for a chance to win a championship."
Given these requirements, fans point to the Golden State Warriors as the best destination for a Paul George trade. If the All-Star joins the Dub Nation, then many believe that this would effectively cement the team's chances of bringing back the championship from LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love. However, no official comment has been given by any of the parties concerned.
