Motorola has changed hands many times in the recent years, and right now, they are under the purview of the folks over at Lenovo. Well, with Android 7.0 Nougat being released to the masses in the final quarter of 2016, it is now time for Motorola to be on board the Android 7.0 Nougat bandwagon for its Moto G4 Plus smartphone. It seems that Moto G4 Plus smartphones have started to pick up the latest version of Android across different networks. It also signals the most major update for the Moto G4 Plus so far, being the 4th generation Moto G device, which arrived with Android 6.0 Marshmallow right out of the box in 2016.

What will the Moto G4 Plus be able to do when it has Android 7.0 Nougat in tow? Well, for starters, it will come with native multi-window support to kick things off in addition to a new design for its notification shade. These are cosmetic changes which hope to make the entire user experience better, although it has been pretty silent on the other details where the changelog is concerned. Hence, we do not have an actual clue on how large or small the download is, and neither do we have the exact build number for the device, at least based on what Telus’ support page has shown to date.

Android Headlines claim that the Moto G4 Plus first picked up the Android 7.0 Nougat update in December of 2016, which would be a couple of months back. The country where the Moto G4 Plus “achieved” this? India, the world’s most populous democracy. Well, it seems that the Android 7.0 Nougat update has proven to be stable enough on the Moto G4 Plus for a more widespread rollout to the masses in different markets.

Whispers have it that other features which will accompany the Android 7.0 Nougat update when it is installed on the Moto G4 Plus would be multitasking capability, a better degree of security, and battery optimization, among others. Of course, Motorola will ensure that the boot animation on the Moto G4 Plus will also be different after Android 7.0 Nougat has been installed.

We are also on the lookout for the next generation of Moto G devices, which would be the Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus. Will those handsets make an appearance at this year’s Mobile World Congress that will be held at Barcelona, Spain? Only time will be able to tell, but we will simply have to adopt a wait and see attitude here. The Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus will hopefully arrive with a more affordable price tag compared to its predecessors, the Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus, or at least that is what the droidmen reported.

If your Moto G4 Plus has already received the Android 7.0 Nougat update, then how has your experience been so far? Has it lived up to your expectations? If you haven’t picked it up just yet, then just continue to be patient.
