The Golden State Warriors are still recovering from a devastating loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers which saw the Stephen Curry team once again fall short despite earning a substantial lead earlier in the game. With LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love rallying to get a hard-earned home court victory over Kevin Durant and Klay Thompson, the Dub nation fans realized an important change for next season. Many believe that a Draymond Green trade would be the best option for the Golden State Warriors.
The Kevin Durant salary chase had a number of NBA teams, such as the Miami Heat and New York Knicks, adjusting their roster in an effort to accommodate the former partner of Russell Westbrook in the OKC. Despite the big names in their lineup, the Golden State Warriors have been able to accommodate their stars and their salaries. However, the rising salary cap and impending Stephen Curry contract talks could require trading other stars.
Rumors are rife that a Draymond Green trade could be in the works. The Golden State Warriors are expected to do everything in their power to re-sign a Stephen Curry contract. Meanwhile, the Kevin Durant salary is weighing down their roster. However, the 2014 MVP is too valuable an acquisition to give up anytime soon. As for Klay Thompson, his recent performance showed that he remains a crucial part of the Dub Nation.
A Draymond Green trade is expected to eliminate the Golden State Warriors’ problems on technical fouls. To date, the explosive star has incurred seven technical fouls ranging from too much celebration on court and displeasing the referees. Instead of searching for ways to change, however, the center seems to be set to continue his streak – an attitude that fans appear to question nowadays.
“Change my approach from what?” asked Draymond Green.
He added, “I don’t know what other approach to take than walking toward the bench. Like, there’s no other approach to take than that. I’m going to continue to be the only person I know how to be. And that’s me. There’s a lot of guys who get home at night and they’re exhausted from acting all day. I only know how to be Draymond. That’s who I’ve been my entire life, that’s who I’ll continue to be. I won’t be exhausted from acting when I get home. That ain’t going to work for me. I won’t change my approach for anything. There’s no point.”
What do you think? Is it time for the Golden State Warriors to get a Draymond Green trade? Will re-signing a steep Stephen Curry contract cause problems especially with the Kevin Durant salary and Klay Thompson deal?
