Just released this year, Apple's iPhone 7 has fared well enough in the market but not as expected, with only a slight overdraft ahead of iPhone 6. September 2017 is the expected release date of iPhone 8, and even with almost a year still ahead, the new phone is now creating a buzz in tech communities.
September 2017 marks the first decade since iPhone's first release, and with iPhone 8 launching on that day, there are unsurprisingly big expectations for the new phone.
A reporter from Wall Street Journal says, "Apple plans bigger design changes for 2017, the 10th anniversary of the original iPhone. Those changes could include an edge-to-edge organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen and eliminating the home button by building the fingerprint sensor into the display."

Screen
iPhone 8's screen is expected to be at 5.8 inches with a curved OLED screen. Another version is also said to be released with a 5.1 to 5.2 inch-screen. The display screen will also have a higher resolution than iPhone 7's Quad HD at 2560 x 1440.
Special Features
Not found on all preceding iPhones, iPhone 8 is expected to have a fingerprint sensing technology under the screen, scrapping the home button that many users complain about. This new technology is called the 'Capacitive Fingerprint Sensor'.
iPhone 8 will also feature a light sensor that can help the device save on batteries while automatically adapting to light conditions of the user's location. This feature, named 'Electronic Devices with Display-Integrated Light Sensors', is currently patented under the Apple brand.
The new iPhone will also have eye sensors that is said to redefine the smartphone experience as it's never been done before. Tech strategist Robert Scoble says, "These (eye sensors) will bring a new kind of interface... a headset which has eye sensors on it enables the next iPhone to have a higher apparent frame rate and polygon count than a PC with a Nvidia 1080 card in it."
Price
iPhone 8's price is expected to be higher than that of iPhone 7 because of its many additional features. iPhone 7 is currently priced at $649 for the 32GB model, $749 for 128GB, and $849 for 256GB. iPhone 7 Plus is available on retail at $769 for the 32GB model, $869 for 128GB, and $969 for 256GB.
It's clear that iPhone 8 will again redefine Apple's list of successful flagship phones. Until then, Apple fans would have to wait for a bit more.
