AT&T is officially joining other over-the-top streaming providers like Sony's PlayStation Vue and Dish Network's Sling TV. The multinational telecommunications company will be launching its new DirecTV Now streaming service on Wednesday. AT&T is even throwing a generous introductory offer of over 100 channels for only $35 monthly.

In lieu of attracting consumers to subscribe to DirecTV Now, AT&T has provided a number of good deals. According to the USA Today, you can also get a free Apple TV when you pay for three months in advance. If you miss the initial promotional period for the 100-plus channel package, there is a 60-plus channel package for the same price. Channels include CNN, ESPN, Disney Channel, TBS, TNT, FOX, Fox Business News and Turner Classic Movies.

There is also an option for 80-plus channels with the addition of ESPNews, ESPNU, NBC Sports, MLB Network and others for $50. If you want 100-plus channels that will have BBC World News, Golf Channel, NBA TV, NHL and MTV Classic, it will cost you $60 monthly. Now, if those are not still enough, you need to spend $70 monthly for the 120-plus channel package. If you want to HBO and Cinemax, that will be $5 each monthly.

In comparison, you have to pay at least $30 monthly for about 45 channels with PlayStation Vue. Sling TV offers fewer channels at the price of $20. You have to spend for additional fees if you want more channels. There is a free 7-day trial at directvnow.com for new customers.

The DirecTV Now is accessible by using either a home broadband or mobile wireless service. Another plus for this new live streaming TV service is the fact that AT&T Wireless users will not have to worry about their data limits. Their video use will not be counted. It will be available on Android and iOS devices, desktop computers, Vizio SmartCast displays, Amazon Fire TV and Apple TV. It will be soon coming to Roku.

According to The Verge, AT&T has already signed agreements with major networks. It is yet to finalize a deal with CBS and Showtime. It should be noted that as for the live streaming from ABC, NBC and Fox, some markets will be able to watch it. The DirecTV Now will also let customers watch two streaming simultaneously. If you are a Taylor Swift fan, the Taylor Swift Now channel will be soon be launching on DirecTV Now. Reese Witherspoon's Hello Sunshine will be available on 2017.

DirecTV Now is venturing into the increasingly competitive market of live TV streaming service. This is as customers shift from the traditional pay-TV.
