Bruno Mars is back and he is back with a bang!
The Funk King is reviving his style in modern music with his newly released album "24K Magic."
Bruno Mars just made everyone known he is officially back with his lyrics saying: "It's showtime! Guess who's back again?"
According to New York Times, the pop idol did not disappoint. Bruno Mars was compared to a musical time machine who can reinvent classic style into our modern up-tempo music industry.
Bruno Mars' unique approach in his musical style just made him an "outlier" who happens to bring "magic" to the table. He is not trying to relive old artists nor jive with the demands of the pop market. Instead, he is a "retro-minded soul singer, songwriter and producer" who focuses on old styles.
His comeback after four years, Mars turns his showmanship up a notch. This discography is reportedly his most diverse collection to date. There are fun songs and there are deep soulful renditions that everyone can just fall in love to.
MTV music critics weighed in on Mars' latest piece of art. According to Jessica Hopper, there a Minneapolis vibe in Mars' new album. Since his approach on this album is on the extreme, Hopper notes that Mars might just "set out to create a soundworld set entirely within Midnight Star's 'No Parking on the Dance Floor.'" Though there might be hints of the latest election's reactionary in "Footprints Prayer," the album still goes back to its core which is to put people on the dance floor.
Meanwhile, another music critic Charles Aaron commended Mars and his crew because they have finally "found a sound that suites his caffeinated stage-show antics plus his desire to bring every mirror-ball ballad home soaked with no regrets."
Aaron noted that Mars has transitioned from a Jukebox Prince to an artist of the 80s and 90s blend like a mix of Michael Jackson, Prince and Bobby Brown.
"Bruno plays like a cuddlier, sparklier, more tightly-drilled Morris Day, hosting the party with brash bonhomie and wit, crafting the songs and performing the shit out of 'em. There's never any devilish presumption - like with, say, Justin Timberlake - that he's more important than the song or the show. Bruno is here to serve you and you will be served."
Mars is now focusing on this tour for the album. His fans has shown how much he was missed because in just 24 hours, Mars' tour has sold over 1 million tickets.
