After latest Nexus devices got their Android Nougat last August, now is the time for HTC smartphones to get taste their of new Google desert. HTC is known for releasing new Android updates immediately, so users of HTC 10, One A9 and M9 should expect to receive an OTA notification soon.
If one will remember, the last year's flagship phones of HTC have received the Android Marshmallow as early as December 2015. Tech experts believe the Taiwanese tech firm will also do the same for the Android Nougat.
Majority of tech websites predicted HTC will release the Nougat update on December for HTC 10. After that, the update will become available on older devices like One A9 and One M9.
On Twitter, the company confirmed the unlocked version of HTC 10 will receive the Android Nougat first, followed by unlocked variants of One M9 and One A9. And then the carrier versions will get the update.
For T-Mobile subscribers, the network provider revealed its HTC smartphones that will receive Android 7.0 Nougat. In the network's official website, it confirmed owners of HTC 10 and HTC One M9 will experience the awesome features of Nougat. However, it did not announce the exact release date of the update.
Meanwhile, there's a high possibility that HTC One M8 users are not included in the Android Nougat roll-out. One M8 was an excellent smartphone back in March 2014, but it may not be powerful enough to handle the new applications of Nougat.
For those who are looking for HTC smartphone that has pre-installed Nougat, HTC Bolt is the answer. VentureBeat reported this mid-range Android Nougat-powered smartphone will become available before October ends.
In comparison to LG V20 and Google Pixel--both have pre-installed Nougat, HTC Bolt is said to be more budget-friendly.
