Nintendo is now gearing up to release The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild next year. After several delays, the much-anticipated game is now set to land on Wii U and Nintendo NX/Switch in the first quarter of 2017.
Since the publisher of Breath of Wild is Nintendo, it is expected the game will be playable on the Nintendo Switch. The console is scheduled to become available on March 2017. Rumors around the internet claim the new Zelda game will also be released together with the Switch.
Therefore, there's a high possibility that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on Wii U and Nintendo Switch on March 2017.
On Twitter, Nintendo wrote the Switch and Wii U version of the game are currently in development and will be released simultaneously.
The Japanese gaming company has been conservatively releasing the gameplay details of Breath of the Wild. However, we've managed to find some interestingly information.
The new Zelda game is described as an open-air adventure, meaning players will be able to select their journey on the realm. They can freely explore mountains, rivers, forests and fields.
Aside from riding on his horse, Epona, Link will be able to use paraglider to fly across the map. Plus, he can jump around the field and climb towering mountains.
One of the first items that players will obtain in Breath of the Wild is a tablet-like device called Sheikah Slate, according to Polygon. Players can use runes from this slate to create items like bombs and other useful equipment. In addition, Sheikah Slate can also be used to scan enemies and know their health status.
There will be no hearts in Breath of Wild to replenish Link's health. Players have to find or cook food to keep the character healthy. IGN reported hunting and gathering is a big part of the game, and players have to learn some skills to survive. There are also areas in the game that requires Link to use specific attire or elixir to keep alive.
Furthermore, rupees will no longer be found in the wild, and players have to sell items in town to get currency.
We expect Nintendo will release more details about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild before the year ends. Stay tuned with us for more update.
