NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers Sign Rudy Gay to Max Deal; D’Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson Get Vet Leader

The Los Angeles Lakers are looking to become a contender team as soon as possible. While D'Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson are flourishing under Luke Walton, the Nick Young squad still needs a veteran star to mentor them. Without the great Kobe Bryant to guide them, the Los Angeles Lakers are said to have confirmed a Rudy Gay trade to fill the roster spot.

The Rudy Gay trade rumors have been dominating the league since last NBA season. With the discord brought about by DeMarcus Cousins and George Karl as well as the eventual exit of Rajon Rondo, the Sacramento Kings are expected to lose a number of key stars soon. If his comments are any indication, then it is clear that Rudy Gay is one of those players. Hence, experts advise the Sacramento Kings to orchestrate a Rudy Gay trade as soon as possible.

"I made the decision to opt out," announced Rudy Gay of his plans concerning the Sacramento Kings. He added, "Whether I sign here, whether I'm here the rest of the season or whether I start here, it's really not up to me. Wherever I am, I'm going play to the best of my ability."

Among the NBA teams reportedly looking into a Rudy Gay trade are the Houston Rockets, San Antonio Spurs, Oklahoma City Thunder, Toronto Raptors, and Los Angeles Clippers. However, the Los Angeles Lakers seem to be offering the best fit for the Sacramento Kings star.

At the moment, though, no official comment has been given by the parties concerned. Right now, the Sacramento Kings seem intent in redeeming themselves this NBA season. As for the Los Angeles Lakers, former Golden State Warriors coach Luke Walton is dubbed as a breath of fresh air for the young basketball stars especially D'Angelo Russell, Jordan Clarkson, and Larry Nance, Jr.

"It's pretty much we have our sets and, obviously, when it comes down to it, if we need a bucket, it's either me or Cuz (DeMarcus Cousins). We have a lot of offensive power; Ty (Lawson) is a great facilitator. We have a lot of weapons. But the way we play the most, with ball movement, I think that's how you win nowadays. You just can't hold onto the ball," shared Rudy Gay of the training he had with the Sacramento Kings.

What do you think? Should the Sacramento Kings gear up for a Rudy Gay trade? Will this benefit them more especially in terms of rebuilding their roster around DeMarcus Cousins? Will the Los Angeles Lakers benefit from it best?
