The Chicago Bulls are anticipated to redeem themselves this NBA season. With Dwayne Wade and Rajon Rondo joining Jimmy Butler as the roster leaders, the former Derrick Rose team is expected to rank higher and at least make the NBA playoffs this year. However, fans might be in for a surprise as a LaMarcus Aldridge trade to the Chicago Bulls could be in the works.
It has been a year after the San Antonio Spurs successfully lured LaMarcus Aldridge from the Portland Trail Blazers and into their roster alongside Kawhi Leonard, Tony Parker, and Danny Green. However, the widely coveted free agent has yet to impress the fans of the former Tim Duncan team. With the recent NBA trade rumors, though, it looks like he might have ran out of time to show that he is worth his huge salary.
Rumors are rife that the San Antonio Spurs are looking into a LaMarcus Aldridge trade before the season heats up. With the rise of Kawhi Leonard and the promising performances of Tony Parker and Danny Green, the Gregg Popovich squad seems to no longer need the services of the former Portland Trail Blazers star. Among the basketball squads eager to get their hands on a LaMarcus Aldridge trade are the Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, Houston Rockets, and Sacramento Kings. However, speculations point to the Chicago Bulls as the best contenders for the highly coveted deal.
Although Jimmy Butler now has Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo in the roster to help him, the Chicago Bulls appear to still be looking for players to add to create a super team in the Eastern Conference. Given the dominance of the Cleveland Cavaliers courtesy of LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love in their lineup, the Chicago Bulls and other Eastern Conference teams should up their game if they want to have a shot at the NBA title.
As things stand at the moment, the Cleveland Cavaliers remain dominant in the title contention projections along with the Golden State Warriors - the team that actually gained the "super team" label with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant in their roster.
At this point though, the NBA trade rumors linked to LaMarcus Aldridge and his exit from the San Antonio Spurs remains speculations. No official comments have been granted by either the Kawhi Leonard Squad or the Chicago Bulls. As for the star in question himself, the LaMarcus Aldridge trade rumors appear to not bother him a bit. In fact, the former Portland Trail Blazers leader feels more confident with his role in the San Antonio Spurs roster coming in this NBA season.
"We made history last year (winning a franchise-record 67 games). They incorporated me into the family and tried to make me one of the big pieces. I'm from Texas. I see my family. I'm winning. Of course, I'm happy," said LaMarcus Aldridge of the NBA trade rumors linked to his name. He added, "That's why I don't buy into the rumors. I feel like I've done everything they've asked of me."
