The much anticipated October 2016 update of Clash of Clans is now live. After several delays, gamers can now use the new additions in the hit mobile game. Here's the latest round-up of update about Clash of Clans October 2016 Update release.
Developer Supercell gave gamers a sneak peak of October 2016 update in a livestream on Sunday. Titled as "Ground vs. Air", the livestream event revealed many of the update's new features, such as new challenges, new troop levels and gameplay tweaks.
Most of the tweaks in the new update are focused on Town Hall 10 and 11. It might be disappointing for low-level players, but Supercell said the changes are for the betterment of the game.
In a blog post, the developer wrote the Bomb Tower is now available for players that have Town Hall 8. Also, players that have Town Hall 10 can build a second Bomb Tower for extra attack power.
For the new troop levels and defense structures, they are concentrated on high-level players that have Town Hall 11.
Town Hall 11 additions are level 10 Mortar, level 9 Hidden Tesla, level 5 Baby Dragon, level 6 Dragon, level 5 X-Bow and 25 additional Wall pieces. For players that have Town Hall 10, on the other hand, they can now use level 7 Wizard.
There are also balance changes in October 2016 update to keep the gameplay fair and exciting.
The damage rate of level 8 Mortar and level 9 Mortar is increased, but Hidden Teslas lost the ability to have 2x damage on P.E.K.K.A. Skelton spells is now more effective as it can summon 26 skeletons in a single spell slot. In addition, the clone spells can last longer in the battle.
Furthermore, witches have increased hit points, and they are now more resilient to incoming fire attacks.
Last but not the least, the October 2016 update introduces the new Friendly War feature. It allows players to send challenges via opponent Clan Profiles, and invited players can accept Friendly War challenges through Clan chat. However, take note that these friendly wars don't have awards or loots, as they are just created for fun.
With the popularity of Pokemon Go, previous reports claim Supercell might also incorporate an augmented reality feature in the next update of Clash of Clans. The developer has not yet confirmed this AR feature, but the possibility remains.
