Gamers may see the launching of Wasteland 3 soon. Developer inXile Entertainment recently released a trailer showing the actual gameplay of the RPG game. The developer also started a Fig campaign to further improve the game. Now, here's what is currently known about Wasteland 3 release date, gameplay and rumors on the web.
The 2-minute trailer of Wasteland 3 features a snowcapped Colorado, new vehicles, and an intricate dialog system. The latter is reportedly based on Torment: Tides of Numenera, an RPG game also developed inXile Entertainment.
The new dialogue system allows players to choose lines of dialogue than can lead them to unique branching conversations. In addition, there are certain character skills that can open up completely new conversations. And last but not least, there are cinematic shots in key conversations that show NPC's facial reaction.
Aside from new dialogue system, fans can expect new vehicles in Wasteland 3, according to GameSpot. Vehicles are one of the major features in the next Wasteland game. They can be used in combat. As the trailer suggests, the new vehicles can act as a weapon or cover against enemies. They can also be used for travel, storing important items, survival and exploration.
In terms of combat style, Wasteland 3 has additional features like new team-focused abilities, environmental hazards and many more.
According to inXile CEO Brian Fargo, they want to take the next Wasteland installment to a darker and ruthless post-apocalyptic setting that builds on the foundations of the previous game. He also described the Wasteland 3 as an "ambitious game" with new features like story-driven multiplayer mode and interactive vehicles.
As we mentioned earlier, inXile started a crowdfunding campaign for Wasteland 3. The game developer aims to raise $2.75 million, which is almost $2 million more than the campaign for Wasteland 2.
Interestingly, those who supported the campaign in the first 48 hours will get a free game: either sci-fi horror game Stasis or turn-based RPG UnderRail. If they also supported a previous InXile project, they can get a $5 discount on rewards backing.
PC Gamer reported Wasteland 3 is a party-based RPG game that is playable in single-player and synchronous/asynchronous multiplayer. It is expected to become available for Windows, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
