Justin Bieber continues to live out his Christian faith, recently performing the hit worship song "I Could Sing of Your Love Forever" before thousands.
According to Religion News Service, the 22-year-old "Sorry" singer performed the 1998 song, written by CCM band Delirious?, before tens of thousands of screaming Beliebers on his "Purpose Tour" in Paris.
The acoustic sing-along was caught on video by several fans, who shared footage of the worshipful moment on YouTube.
The "What Do You Mean" singer has previously opened up about his love of worship music: Last year he named "No Longer Slaves" from Jonathan and Melissa Helser of Bethel Music as one of his favorite songs, and later took to Instagram to share a screenshot of his iPod playing the song This is Living, another popular Christian song by Hillsong featuring LeCrae.
"This reminds me how amazing life is supposed to be..if you are discouraged listen to this song it will bring you supernatural pace, at least it did for me! #stepoutonfaith" he captioned the photo.
Bieber was famously baptized by Hillsong Church pastor Carl Lentz in 2014, and now frequently speaks about his Christian faith. However, in the time prior to his conversion, the singer made headlines for his bad behavior, including egging his neighbor's house, using illegal drugs, spending time with prostitutes, and abandoning his pet monkey in Germany.
In an earlier interview with GQ Magazine, Bieber credited his newfound faith with saving him from being a "terrible" person.
"I feel like that's why I have a relationship with Him, because I need it. I suck by myself," he said. "If I was doing this on my own, I would constantly be doing things that are, I mean, I still am doing things that are stupid, but... It just gives me some sort of hope and something to grasp onto, and a feeling of security, and a feeling of being wanted, and a feeling of being desired, and I feel like we can only get so much of that from a human."
The singer also opened up about the dangers of worshiping people like himself instead of the One who truly deserves praise.
"I would really suggest to people, 'Don't put your faith in me,'" he old The Mirror, "Because I'm gonna disappoint you every time. Yeah. It's scary. But I want them to know that I'm not going to be able to solve their problems... I'm not that higher power. I'll never be. I'm not perfect. I've made so many mistakes. I just want to get to a place where... I just want people to know humans aren't meant to be worshiped. We're just not. So when a human is being worshiped, this is dangerous. 'Cause it does nothing but give you pride."
Earlier this year, Bieber got a small cross tattooed on his face and explained to E!, "It was a representation of his faith in Jesus and his journey with finding purpose in God." The singer also has a cross tattoo on his chest and the word "Yeshua," which is the Hebrew name for "Jesus."
