Amazon is now accepting pre-orders for the Sony Xperia X Compact. This smartphone is perfect for gadget lovers who want to own a powerful gadget that feels good on hand. Pre-order the new Xperia X Compact now to be one of its early users when it becomes available on September 25.
The Sony Xperia X Compact costs $499.99. Interestingly, early buyers can get $50 credit at checkout when purchasing from Amazon. The unlocked version of the handset can be bought in three color options: Universe Black, Mist Blue and White.
As for the specs, the smartphone sports a 4.6-inch display with 720 x 1,280-resolution clocked at 319 pixels per inch (ppi). Its screen is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 4. Because of its size, the smartphone is very handy and can easily fit into user's pocket.
Under the hood, it is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 650, which is made up of four 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 cores and two 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 cores. Tech experts say the Snapdragon 650 is a solid SoC and shouldn't have a hard time powering up the handset.
Furthermore, the Xperia X Compact has Adreno 510 GPU and 3 GB worth of RAM. Users can store plenty of files on the smartphone's 32 GB of onboard storage that is upgradeable up to 256 GB via microSD card.
For photography enthusiasts, Sony's upcoming smartphone has 23-MP rear-facing camera that is equipped with predictive hybrid autofocus and fast capture technologies. It is also capable of shooting images in low-light environment with ISO 12,800, according to GSM Arena.
For selfies, it has 5-MP snapper on the front that supports 1080p images.
To meet the standard features of today's smartphones, Xperia X Compact offers USB Type-C port, fingerprint scanner, and sensors for accelerometer and gyroscopic.
In terms battery capacity, it has a decent 2,700 mAh battery pack that is enough the keep the smartphone alive throughout the day. It also comes with Quick-charge 3.0 technology from Sony.
On the downside, the Xperia X Compact does not have waterproof body and support for 4K video recording.
Overall, the smallest Xperia X smartphone is a solid device with decent specs and a screen size under five inches. It is perfect for those who have been having difficulty using extra-large phones that hardly fits on one hand.
